Celebrating 23 Years in Boulder!

The Wild Bird Center of Boulder, CO is your resource for backyard bird watching and feeding in Colorado and the Front Range. With over 155 years combined birding experience, our expert staff members are a great resource for Colorado bird feeding and bird watching. Now in our 23rd year, Steve Frye opened the first Wild Bird shop in Colorado on West Pearl in Boulder. Our birding experts are always available to answer your questions and learn of your birding activities.

Steve Recommends

Fall is approaching and the birds are in transition. Sometimes this means the activity level at your feeder drops. This is the result of so much natural food available and fewer birds present. However, fall can be great for backyard birders because you never know when an unusual bird in migration will show up in your yard! Keep your feeding stations stocked up and your water features clear of leaves. All birds need water, so you can always attract the non-seed eaters with your water feature. Birds that cache food for the winter like jays and nuthatches are busy gathering food. So don’t forget the jay peanuts.

Walk on the Wild Side
Sat, May 19, 2012

Put this on your calendar! Last year we had a great time at Walk on the Wild Side, and this years’ walk should prove to be even better. Learn more details and pledge on the Walk on the Wild Site Website. If you would like to help, we need volunteers to station spotting scopes along the birding route and to talk about birds and wildlife with the participants. You need not be a birding expert to do this. To volunteer, please call the Wild Bird Center at 303-442-1322.

Join us for our weekly Bird Walks every Saturday (Year-Round) from 7:30am to 9:45 am (approximately). ... more
